Original sign with provenance!! Double Sided 1950 Allen Morrison Coca Cola sign 68″ X 24″. Sign is dated 10-50. It was made in Lynchburg Va. For the Palestine Tex. Coca Cola Bottling Plant. Unsure what business it was hung at but it had been stored in the barn of the owner/manager C. Lauman of the bottling Company for over 50 years and was bought from his estate. Star Bottling Works, which operated here (Palestine, Tx) as early as 1926. Laumen was the manager. By 1933 city directories list the Coca Cola Bottling Company, Inc. As owner and occupant of the buildings. Lauman was still the manager, however, suggesting that the new company might have been just the Star Bottling Works with a new name and a new affiliation with Coca Cola. Sign has age, signs of usage, scratches, dents and a little rust. This sign is still beautiful and in great condition for its age. There are no stupid questions!! Check out my store.
