This Very Rare Original Late 1960’s Hand-Painted Solid Wood Ronald McDonald Playland Photo Op Wall Display came out of a Boston area McDonald’s that was recently demolished and rebuilt. I’m not an expert on this type of collectible so I will post multiple photos to help show details and condition. It was stored away for decades in the original restaurant and was brought out during the demolition. It measures 6′ High x 25″ Wide x 1/2″ Thick. It is hand painted with thick vibrant acrylic paints. There are some hand cut black vinyl accents, including letters, on some of Ronald’s pockets. The McDonald’s it came out of was originally built in the late 60’s and this piece most likely hung on a wall in or near the Playland where kids would stand in front of Ronald for a photo opportunity! It is beautifully handmade and is really solid. Perhaps it was a commissioned piece built by a local artist or sign company. I did some research but could not find another like it. It may be a one of a kind piece of McDonald’s history… I will leave that determination and its possible history up to the expert collectors. This rare 6′ tall solid wood Ronald McDonald wall figure is in very good shape considering its use and age. It shows normal signs of age and use including some chipped paint, scratches, scuffs and some edge wear. There are 13 small screw holes that were made to hang this figurine on a wall in the restaurant but they are pretty subtle looking. Overall this impressive piece of McD’s history is very solid and really eye catching… And the hand-painted colors are super sharp! It could use some paint touch up but my personal opinion is that it looks fantastic as is in its original found shape. This Ronald McDonald Wall Figure would make a great addition to a vintage McDonald’s memorabilia collection or to a kid’s play room or man cave.
