If you don’t intend to pay for this if you win, please hit the BACK button and don’t even go any further. I don’t about you, but that seems kind of weird to me, suspicious even, so I feel like you are owed an explanation of how this series of unfortunate events transpired. If you could care less (I can’t blame you) just read the “Description” and ignore the “Story” that follows it. Description: This is a cool old lighted ON THE AIR sign box , please read for details and look at all of the pictures. Most of the metal is brass, but the piece that goes against the wall is tin with some surface rust. The box by itself measures about 8 1/2″ by 4 3/4″ and 4 1/8 front to back. The frame comes off by loosening the thumbscrew, and the lens can be removed and changed if you’d rather it say something else. The lens is white plexiglass with a black painted surface, I’m pretty sure it’s not as old as the rest of it but it still has a nice look. I’ve never seen the sign lit up, but when I hold the lens up to a bright light the black seems a little transparent and a few flaws show, but it should look ok with a dim bulb. I’m not sure of the age but I know it’s old, and it’s pretty unique, I haven’t seen another like it! I over-packed the living daylights out of it, and insured it for the full amount. I again asked for better pictures and more details and and received none. They gave me a service request number so that I could check on the progress of the situation and anything else I needed to know about how to handle it from there. They were going to contact their lawyer and I would “soon find out that they would never quit fighting to defend their reputation”…. At least that shut them up for a week or two, but I knew it probably wasn’t the end of it. So I started over. This time it took, I called back later with my new request number and I was told the same reassuring things that I’d been told before. But I received the correct item back, unbroken, disassembled. I guess the photo shoot was over and it was no longer needed. So here it is again, hopefully this will be the last time I own it, but nothing would surprise me. Then I take it out of my bank account, and I have no overdraft protection. I don’t write checks or use debit on that account so I don’t need it. And I would hope that it would hurt their feelings. I know my little story will annoy a few people, like I said, you didn’t have to read it. And it may cause Captain Shyster to try to get the listing removed, but I have given no personal or even public information here, so hopefully it will stay up. Hopefully the third time is the charm. If I don’t please contact me. See my other auctions for all kinds of weird junk! Please read the info below, if you’re fairly easy going, reasonable, responsible, and willing to pay me if you win, it probably doesn’t apply to you. If you’re one of those folks who regularly goes to restaurants, eats the whole meal and then complains about it so that you can get a percentage off of your bill, then it might apply to you. And if your spouse curses loudly at the waitress even after you get the discount, it definitely applies to him/her too. If you’re not going to pay at all, then just hit the BACK button and don’t even go any further. With gas prices rising special trips to the post office cost me more and take time away from other things. This seems ridiculous to have to say, but I got a negative for not throwing in a bunch of extra stuff, lol. No I’m not kidding.. I believe I describe my items as well as I can, and if I make a mistake I will cover it. Well about once every 2 years I run into someone completely unreasonable on here, this last one was one of the worst. I have always had great feedback and will do my very best to work with everyone. But the changes made a while back have given those people out there with no communication skills a right to kill. I received some feedback quite a while back from people who, if they had contacted me first, there wouldn’t have been a problem. In a nutshell, if you receive something from me and are unsatisfied, please just talk with me. Sometimes emails don’t find the person they are sent to, so even call if you need to. Thanks for your good communication in advance. The item “ORIGINAL ON THE AIR BRASS LIGHTED SIGN RADIO STUDIO VINTAGE RECORDING ANTIQUE” is in sale since Thursday, September 22, 2016.
